Volunteer

We are committed to ensuring the safe running of the race for both runners and the general public by providing the best-marshalled event possible. To enable this, we rely on many individuals and groups to give up their Sundays to help supervise the course and cheer on the runners.

There are plenty of opportunities to help, so get involved!

No previous experience is required.

How we thank our volunteers

As a thank you, we aim to donate to an organisation or charity of your choice. When you register to volunteer, you can choose one of our nominated charities or your preferred charity.

Consider getting a group of friends, family or colleagues together to increase the amount of money you raise for your chosen charity.

In 2023, the race raised over £16,000 for charity.

In addition, you are invited to attend the post-race function to thank you for your time.

Spread the word

If you think someone you know is willing to volunteer, please encourage them to register. We need as many marshals as we can get!

If you are a member of a local sports club, please ask your club to get involved; it’s a great way to raise money for your club.

Our tail runner support team includes a tail cyclist and a van to collect runners who need to pull out.
