Information for residents

This year, the Abingdon Marathon will take place on Sunday, 20 October, between 9 am and 3 pm. We do very much appreciate that this will cause some inconvenience for local residents and businesses, but we aim to keep this to a minimum.

Fantastic local support

Over the years, the runners at our event have commented on how fantastic the support is and how much they have enjoyed being cheered on their way by local residents. So, as a race committee, we want to extend our thanks to the people of Abingdon and the surrounding villages for the welcoming atmosphere you create and for your kind support of our event.

Charity event

We also want you to be aware that The Abingdon Marathon is an entirely not-for-profit organisation. Aside from a small contingency budget, all our profits go directly to charity, and many of these are local organisations in this area.

How the event may affect you

We are always looking at ways to improve our marathon, and as part of this, we are including information for residents. Here, you will find details of the road closures that may affect you and more information about the route. If you have questions not answered on these pages, email our race directors, Kate and Nichola, at racedirector@abingdonmarathon.org.uk.

Again, Thank you for your patience and support as we stage our marathon this year.
